The Dutch company Lightyear has brought to mind its development — the Lightyear One electric car with a solar battery.

The international premiere of the production version of the car, called Lightyear 0, took place today.

So, after six years of development, Lightyear 0 became available for order. The first deliveries are scheduled for autumn 2022. The price is 250 thousand euros.

According to the company, thanks to proprietary technology, Lightyear 0 is equipped with five square meters of solar panels. It is noted that this technology can provide the car with an additional 70 km of power reserve per day and up to 11,000 km per year. Charging for an hour using solar panels should increase the power reserve by 10 km. Charging from a household outlet will give an additional 32 km per hour, and from a fast charging station — 520 km.

By itself, the battery with a capacity of 60 kWh provides 625 km of power reserve on the WLTP cycle. The company calculated that if you drive an average of 50 kilometers, then the car can not be charged for months.With all this, the electric car is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 10 seconds, and the maximum speed is 160 km / h.

There are five seats inside. The infotainment system is equipped with a 10.1-inch touch screen, the Android Automotive platform is used.
