The seventh generation of the Volkswagen Golf appeared before the world community back in September 2012, and already in 2013, the light saw a version on an environmentally friendly form of energy with the prefix "e". The development of a fully electric car based on an already existing compact platform was carried out even before the presentation of the new generation. The first developments were demonstrated two years earlier at a special event held thanks to a government initiative. In the future, the German automobile market should become the leading one in the field of electric vehicles. As for the finished product model, it received a simple power plant, became heavier due to the battery pack, and also slightly changed in appearance. It is not difficult to distinguish this version from a model with an internal combustion engine. A small nameplate and a blue horizontal stripe appeared on the radiator grille. The headlamps already in the basic configuration have a fully LED filling, and other sections of fog lights are located on the front bumper. In the wheel arches, you can see alloy wheels of a rather unusual design.

sizes

Volkswagen e-Golf is a compact five-door hatchback of the C-class. Its overall dimensions are: length 4255 mm, width 1799 mm, height 1452 mm, and wheelbase - 2637 mm. The ground clearance is slightly less than the average - 143 millimeters. As for the type of suspension, it is borrowed from less powerful modifications. Independent McPherson struts are located on the front axle, and a torsion beam is located at the rear. The manufacturer decided not to equip the car with a more complex and expensive multi-link design used on more powerful versions.

The size of the trunk is average, for this class. When loaded under the back shelf, it can hold up to 380 liters, and if you fold back the sofa, you can get up to 1270 liters.

technical specifications

Under the hood of the Volkswagen e-Golf is a fully electric power plant. It is based on an electric motor that develops 115 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. All power is transmitted through a single-stage gearbox to the front axle wheels. Such an engine allows the hatchback to accelerate to a speed of one hundred kilometers per hour in 10.4 seconds and gain up to 140 km/h as much as possible. The power is supplied from a lithium-ion battery located under the floor. It weighs 318 kilograms and is capable of providing up to 130-190 kilometers of travel, depending on the pace of movement. It will take about 13 hours to charge it from a regular household network, however, this time can be significantly reduced when using special equipment.

EQUIPMENT

There are no junior trim levels for the Volkswagen e-Golf. Already in the base, the car will receive a climate system, a leather multifunctional steering wheel with heating, a multimedia complex with premium acoustics, navigation and a rear-view camera, heated windshield, a full electric package, an electric parking brake and an optitronic instrument panel.
