The Chinese concern BYD announced the launch of a new sub-brand called F. According to CarNewsChina, the first model of this line will be a crossover with increased off-road capabilities, followed by a pickup truck. On the market, BYD F cars will be positioned as premium — that is, they will compete with comparable offers of the "Big German Three". The exact date of the market launch of BYD F is still unknown, although the first models for the sub-brand are already being tested.
The SUV captured in the spy photos resembles the silhouette of a recent novelty of the concern called Yangwang U8. It also features an angular body and a spare wheel on the fifth door. But, according to preliminary data, the concern will position the models of this line as more affordable with a price in the range of 400 to 600 thousand yuan (approximately 58 to 86 thousand US dollars).
- In addition, SUVs from the BYD F line will be more compact, although their design may partially overlap with the Yangwang. For example, the components of the platform will be involved, although the BYD F powertrain line will receive its own — in addition to electric motors, hybrid power plants will appear in it. The type of bearing element BYD F (frame or body) is still unclear.
- Photospies were able to shoot a pickup truck, which, it is possible, will be presented on the market at the same time as an SUV. It is not specified exactly when the market debut of the new sub-brand will take place, but judging by some details of the prototypes, their testing is at an early stage.
- The Yangwang U8 has become one of the flagship models of the concern and with the start of sales it may turn out to be the most expensive SUV in China — its official cost has not yet been named. It will receive four electric motors with a recoil of 326 hp each and will be able to accelerate to 100 km / h in 3 seconds. Later, the U9 supercar will join the SUV, which will become even more dynamic.
